Felix is back!

Sorry Folks,

i just forgot about to keep you guys posted here!
There 2nd half of my season went a bit up and down and im sure some of you missed me on the results from Monaco IM 70.3 and the XTERRA worlds in Maui.

Well, Monaco brought me a stupid crash in a slippy downhill and i finished in the TOP 100 after wrecking my bike.

I finished 3rd in the XTERRA European Tour. My chance for 2nd faded leading the last race in Cannes France with a broken Chain.
Then Maui was out of reach becaus i blew my budget for studying in Sydney and Capetown this winter!

So far for the good news and the bad news!

I will add y few nice shots and promise to blog a little more.....

See you all soon

Hi Together!

Sorry for my longe silence but racing on the weekends and school during the week kept me quite busy!
I had some ups and downs since my perfect race at the XTERRA EC but now im finally at the last stage (now theres a 6 week brake until Austria) of the tour in France.

All the guys here have been racing for the last 4 weeks on the toughest courses all over Europe and on Sunday there will be a merciless showdown 5800ft high in the french alps.

Are you ready for the big hike?

Highnoon in Itlay

Watch out for Sunday 10:00 CET! At the marvellous beach of Cala Cinepro (Sardegna) More than 250 Athletes will kick off the XTERRA European Tour.
I made the short trip from Stuttgart Yesterday allready to stop by at my friends in the south of the Island. Villacidro is always worth a visit and racing will continue here next weekend at the International X Triathlon of Big V!

Conditions are great ,im feeling more than prepared and enjoy beeing part of the family again. Theres nothing like the typically XTERRA hang loose with all my friends from around the world.

A few spins round the course and some getting-to-know with the salt water and itll be Sunday morning very soon.

I dont care much about the competition though XTERRA racing is unpredictable- Of course Olivier Marceau will go off in front and the big Prefesseur from France Monsieur Lebrun will hammer the bike from the back. Ill be somewhere in between on my way to the tete de la course!

Going Crosscountry!!!!!!!

XCountry Hausach

Two weeks to one of my biggest races this year- XTERRA Euro Champs on Sardegna- i went deep into the Black Forrest to ride my first A Category X Country race.

Worldcup Biker and XTERRA racer Scheidenbauer put me into the first starting line and with the gun we went off into a real thunderstorm.

With 40 guys behind me on the trail and no grip on the wet track there was no slowing down. Riding well into the top 10 in the first half i had some spectacular crashes when the downhills became watefalls in the end.

My legs were perfect but i was just out of control again. Finishing 18th i was quite happy havent broken anything too important.

When i look back over the last year, 12 months ago at this point my riding wasnt quite what it is now so i have no reason to worry about coming things.

Lets rock!

Entering XTERRA German Tour

After my big knockout in the Buschhütten streetfight i went back on the dirt for the first XTERRA German Tour race in Chemnitz far east in good old Germany!

Day one was big photoshooting again and we hac big fun posing together and getting our bikes fixed by our new Tech guy Jebu.
This guy is magic with all that spins and clicks and rocks. You shouls check out his stuff on www.speen.de!

After seeing the course for Sunday i was really hot for racing. Sweet single tracks- no serious trouble, only fun riding!

As we were doing a Cross Duathlon the first run was more to check out the enemy! I stayed close to the front and waited fot the bike.
Riding out with Czech Jan Kubicek and former Cross Team member Wingenfeld i was the first of us and kept a close look behind. But the rest was playing it save so i tested my two companions on the first real climb and went when i see them dropping of.

Pushing my own pace felt really great and i could even save some energy for a fast run in the end.

I won with a good 2 minute lead over Kubicek and Dietz feeling back on the right track for the Europeans in 3 weeks!

Racing the Autobahn in Buschhuetten

Last Sunday it was THE race in German spring were i entered the ring in Germany! As my Bundesliga Team is the main race organizer its always the Team against everybody who shows up. Over the last decade the names of the winners (and almost winners) mark the importance and serious cash issue of the Buschhütten race: Lothar Leder, Macca,Faris, Maik Petzhold, Steffen Liebetrau......

After all since i entered the EJOT Team 3 years ago, i always had my share of trouble first with the dead flat bike course without any drafting and then the tricky running part around almost every corner in the whole little town!

However this year i rolled out my new Storck Aero and with my smokin run in Capetown i was pretty confident.
With Norman Stadler giveing his debut in BH it was another reason t fight to the finish!

Prerace was very nervous - Norman and the Dresdner Kleinwort gang made the big show and my good friend Sebastian Kienle ( i spent 3 days before the race with him) got more and more jumpy as he felt big things to happen in his legs!

One thing about my swim- S.....
My googles went foggy and i lost Maik Twelsieks feet after 200 of 1000m in the pool already!

Exiting the Water with all the IRONMAN cracks had not been my plan but still i felt up with the challenge and tried to look as dangerous as possible under my time trial helmet when i rolled out on the Siegen Autobahn with Liebetrau, Stadler and Twelsiek!

The same guys who had dropped me last year after 20 k this year they had to suffer me until we made the lead "pack" together. By that time Kienle was almost a minute ahead which was a pretty big surprise for all the Big Names around me!

Running out of T2 in 4th on Stadlers heels i was almost looking forward to the run!
Shouldnt have though. After 1000m my legs just shut down , it was like riding a flat tire......
Well i managed 10th in the end and stopped looking for reason pretty soon as this sometimes happens in early season racing.

Having Sebastian grab the victory is a big blow for the time and Norman of course but als a reason for me to smile as well as work harder to catch up with him by the time we race together in monaco!
